I am a first-generation Chaldean immigrant from Iraq. My family immigrated to the States in 1991, and I grew up in San Diego since age 4. I received my undergraduate education at John Paul the Great Catholic University and majored in Communications Media with an emphasis in Screenwriting. Years later, I decided to pursue higher education by attending Loma Linda University's school of Behavioral Sciences and received my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. As a student, I was hired by Loma Linda Health's MEND program where I worked with patients of chronic illness in intensive outpatient (IOP) therapy before moving back to San Diego in January of 2024. I was very excited to become connected with Candice and her clinic and am looking forward to continue growing in this field both as a therapist and individual.
Why I Love To Serve
Service has been something I have been drawn to since childhood. My family participated in a number of outreach programs in San Diego. I also did a lot of service ministry in my youth group during High School including building houses for poor families in Mexico. I also lived as a religious sister for 12 years and served my Chaldean community in Rancho San Diego. Service is my way of giving back to God a small fraction of the blessings he has bestowed on me. Working with my patients and walking on their individual paths and journeys is just another way that God has allowed me to continue serving His people.

How do I choose. I love to read, write and draw. I also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and am part of my parish choir.

I was born and raised in San Diego and have lived in Mexico and Spain. I have my undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in clinical psychology from the University of Navarra in Spain. Psychology and the brain have always interested me and I am happy to be able to continue learning more every day and at the same time to be able to help people feel better through neurofeedback. In my free time I like to run by the beach, work out, coffee dates and spend time with my friends.
Why I love to serve
I find joy in serving because it allows me to witness the beautiful journey of growth and change in people. Through empathy and compassion, I connect deeply with individuals, extending a helping hand to support them on their paths. This sense of fulfillment arises from the ability to connect and offer assistance, fostering unity and shared humanity. Empathy and compassion fuel the desire to understand and support mental and emotional well-being, serving as guides to facilitate healing, promote self-discovery, and empower others to lead more fulfilling lives. This process not only benefits the patients but also brings profound purpose and meaning to me.
Favorite hobby
I really love exploring new places, restaurants and coffee shops, especially by the beach where I can go and take a walk after.
Favorite animal
My favorite animal is a dolphin. They're just amazing creatures, so gentle, super smart, and really good at forming deep emotional bonds. The way they interact with humans can create a unique and comforting environment, providing a sense of joy, calmness, and motivation that can be really beneficial for therapy participants.
Favorite food
Mexican food is my absolute favorite, and it's not just because of my heritage, although that's definitely part of it. I love the flavors, the variety of dishes and the richness of spices. Thai food is also on the top of my lists, the flavors are so diverse, from the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, sour, and salty.
What I do in my free time
One of my favorite things to do in my free time is manicures. I find it relaxing while taking time for self-care. I love doing manis on my friends and family.

A Little About Me
I was born and raised in San Diego and have spent some time living in the Bay Area and Washington D.C. I have always had a keen interest in the medical field, and I have been working for Candice at Beautiful Mind Clinic since 2019. I fill many rolls within our clinic but my primary place is a technician training patients (clients or patients. Perhaps we should be consistent) in Neurofeedback and administering brain scans. I love this occupation and seeing the powerful transformation of the individuals who we have the privilege of helping.
Why I Love To Serve
Service has been a critical focus in all aspects of my life to include working with Candice to help people struggling with mental health and emotional health. I place strong importance on the whole person; that we are each uniquely and wonderfully made and that we should be honored and cherished because of our intrinsic worth. I bring empathy and care to each patient that comes through our doors.
Favorite Hobby
My favorite hobby is spending time at the beach and working out, hiking with my family in the back country of San Diego County and just being outside. There are so many beautiful places to get out and find peace and healing in God's creation.
Favorite Animal
My favorite animal is the horse. It is a beautiful animal that relies on a harmonious relationship with humans to thrive. The runner-up would be an otter -- they take the cake for cuteness!
Favorite Food
My favorite food is sushi and Thai food. I enjoy trying different restaurants throughout San Diego County where there are many outstanding choices of culinary experiences to enjoy! I will never turn away a bowl of guacamole and chips. Despite coming from a British family Mexican food is one of my favorites to cook.

Free time is a precious commodity for me and I really enjoy spending time with my family who live locally and being a part of my church community. I am extremely involved in my local community as well and love the small town atmosphere
